"The double Berekyntian pipes in the mouth of Kleokhos droned a gruesome Libyan lament, one which long ago both Sthenno and Euryale with one many-throated voice sounded hissing and weeping over Medousa newly gashed, while their snakes gave out voice from two hundred heads, and from the lamentations of their curling and hissing hairs they uttered the manyheaded dirge of Medousa." - Nonnus, Dionysiaca 40.227

Medusa

Jesse Kingsley

Medusa is a complicated human sized marionette created for "Sita's Fire."

Medusa is specially strung so that she can dance synchronized duets with her human counterpart. There are a lot of fancy belly-dancing moves involved, and a general lack of eye contact between the dancers.

Everytime we perform this piece, we end up having to take a large van to Pottery Barn the next morning. If you are ever at a garden party, and see a statue of someone clapping, please call the Ghostbusters.
